Tetraplegic Living is my personal website which I setup in 2006. I set my website up to show that being confined to a wheelchair doesn't mean that life has to end. I have found many interests that keep me busy and give me something to enjoy in life. I was able to carry on participating in my favourite hobby of angling. I also became a licensed radio amateur in 1995. Computers are my absolute lifeline, I really don't know what I would do without my PC. I passed my driving test in 1995 and now drive a specially adapted Mercedes Sprinter Van. I hope that my website will give a wholeyou a good insight into what you can achieve and what is possible even though you may be confined to a wheelchair with a serious disability. G0VQY.co.uk is my amateur radio personal website. I have been a licensed radio ham since the beginning of 1995. There is nothing more I enjoy then talking to people all around the world in all walks of life. Some people I've talked to are fluent in English, others can only speak enough English to make a QSO, that really doesn't matter, amateur radio is about making contact with people, you don't need to be able to speak English, at the end of the day it's fun however you do it. I can be found on all of the HF bands throughout the day and evening. My favourite bands are by far 10 and 17 m. Using my ICOM 7800 and 3 element SteppIR, I can quite often be heard beaming towards the United States in the afternoon and evening. In 2006 I took my Chrysler Plymouth Voyager to a company in Exeter called Carrs of Exeter so that they could carry out a recall and replace the hydraulic assembly which operates the ABS braking system on the vehicle. Unfortunately due to their lack of knowledge and expertise regarding this matter, they actually ended up making my car even worse than when I took it in. After a lot of heartache, expense and time wasting, they did eventually fit the hydraulic assembly, unfortunately they didn't fit it properly. They treated me appallingly, even though they knew I was disabled and relied on my vehicle for mobility. I had to threaten them with legal action before they would give back money that they shouldn't have even taken off me and the very beginning. I was so disgusted and angered by the way they treated me, I put this webpage together a few years ago to warn anyone else who may be thinking about visiting Carrs of Exeter in order to have their vehicle repaired....

New Life is performed by the "Zones" and is part of the soundtrack on the film "That Summer" which stars a very young 21-year-old Ray Winstone. Ray plays a young lad just out of reform school who decides to travel to Torquay to try and win the swimming race. However, three young louts from Scotland are destined to make trouble for him. Back in 1978 a young 21-year-old Ray Winstone made a film called "That Summer". Although "That Summer" did not attract the same acclaim as films such as "Scum" and "Quadrophinia" which also starred Winstone, "That Summer" is still worth watching, even if it's only for its fantastic soundtrack. The soundtrack which is well out of production includes artists such as Elvis Costello, Ian Dury, Nick Lowe, The Only Ones and the Zones. You can also download the songs....

I created this photo gallery as a tribute to my best friend Gary Cochrane who passed away in 2005. The photos were taken in 1984/85 in and around Torbay, mainly Paignton and Torquay. Both Gary and myself became friends in the early 80s and went to the same school. We spent many good times will each other and used to traipse around Paignton in our Dr Marten boots and Crombie coats. After introducing Gary to fishing, we would go off and have some really enjoyable fishing trips together. After my accident we continued our friendship up until his sad passing....

Anyone who owns a pet will know that they are very much a tie and when it comes to going on holiday, you can have difficulties finding somebody to look after your pet. There was a chap called John who lives in Brixham who is very much a dog lover, he used to have his own dog until it died a couple of years ago. Rather than get another dog, he now runs a dog boarding and walking service in which you pay him to look after your dog. John is extremely experienced when it comes to looking after dogs so you can be absolutely sure that your pet will be in safe hands....
